They will allow cancellations, but they have strict policies. This is the date you guys picked. Check with your families, get the numbers that want to go. CATALINA ISLAND TRIP JULY 16 - 18, 2005

CAMPING
Hermit Gulch/Avalon: Several spaces available (as of Thursday 5/19 morning) at Hermit Gulch, the campground above Avalon. This is the one with the shuttles into town, or walk. We would need to reserve individual sites, which they allow up to 4 people per site. The camping fee is $24 per person ($12 per person, with a 2 night minimum = $24.00).

I recommend we go to Hermit Gulch/Avalon, more stuff to do, places to eat, tours if you want to, beach, etcÉ and we should consider leaving Friday so we dontt waste a night's fee.

TRANSPORTATION
I would recommend Catalina Express: They have boats leaving about every 2 hours all day until 7:55 pm. I would suggest those that can should leave early enough to get over there while its still light out. Others could always come over later. Cost $49 round trip. Note: Group discount only if we have 20 or more.

FOOD
We just buy groceries at the Vons over on there. Easiest way to go.

EQUIPMENT
We can share equipment, so we will need to bring at least one camp stove and lantern and a cooler or two, and some cooking stuff Ð coffee pot, pots and pans, etc.

ADULT LEADERS/FAMILY
If YOUR parent goes, like a family outing, you could go parasailing, and other stuff, because your parent would have responsibility, not Scouts.

DEPARTURE TIME
Find out who can leave early on Friday, who would need to leave later on Friday, and who would come up Saturday.
