Royal Court Wins Queen's Trophy

PALMDALE -- The Acton royal court won the Queen's Trophy in this year's Palmdale Holiday Parade. The Palmdale Water District took the Mayor's Trophy, A.V. React Team came away with the Chairman's Trophy and Christian Life Assembly won the Theme Trophy. The theme of the Dec. 11 parade was "Come Fly With Me."

Rounding out the top awards were Pinecrest Schools with the Judges' Trophy and Cub Scout Pack 737 and Boy Scout Troops 737 and 767 winning the Sweepstakes Trophy.

Other awards by category include: Youth: Sea Scout Ship 11, first; Cub Scout Pack 695, second; and Marching 2000 Drill Team and Drum Corps, third. Large floats: commercial -- Knight High School, first.

Color guard -- Naval Sea Cadet Corp., first place; Air Force Junior ROTC, second; and Marine Corp League, third place.

Youth drill: Cub Scout Pack 692, first; St. Mary's School, second; and Jr. Knights of Columbus, third. Marching units: Littlerock High School Army Junior ROTC, first; and Faith Chapel North Church of God in Christ marching unit, second.

Baton teams: Palmdale Sunsational Baton Twirlers, first. Cheerleaders: Amargosa Creek Cheerleaders, first; Guidance Charter School, second; and Palmdale High School Cheerleaders, third.

Drill team: Antelope Valley High School Navy Junior ROTC, first; Hillview Dance Team, second; and Lancaster Unique Hi Steppers Drill/Drum Squad, third.

Miscellaneous.: A.V. Shrine Karts, first. Small Floats: religious -- Potter's House, first. Noncommercial: A.V. Ya-Ya's, first; Democratic Club of the High Desert, second; and Miss Antelope Valley, third. Commercial: Coldwell Banker Hartwig of Palmdale, first; and Antelope Valley College, second.

Noncommercial: Lancaster Mortgage Services Inc., first; and A. V. Salseros, second.
